Examples of commonly used secure Government (State/Federal) IDs are:

  • State issued Driver’s License, Instruction Permit or Commercial Driver’s License
  • State Issued Identification Card
  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • Permanent Resident Card

Examples of Insecure identification are:

  • Birth Certificates
  • Social Security Card
  • DMV Interim (paper)
  • School/College ID
  • Credit Card
  • Voter Registration Card
  • Employee Badges
  • Law Enforcement work cards, State issued work cards, alcohol certification cards
    • You do not have to be 21 years old to obtain these cards and they often times do not indicate a date of birth
