The federal government regulate certain aspects of interstate commerce involving the alcoholic beverage industry. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB.gov) is the federal agency that is primarily involved in the regulation of beverage alcohol and tobacco.
However, laws pertaining to the sale and service of alcoholic beverages are reserved for state and local governments. Each state is subject to its own laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcohol. Government laws and regulations will vary from state to state and sometimes even between cities and counties.
